Holly Hocks & Hydrangeas
Who doesn't love a flower garden spot?
You can relax in it when it's rainy or hot,
Be glad of the lovely beauties you bought;
And think about days gone by or how many you've got.
I can't get Holly Hocks to grow, no matter what I do. I snapped this photo at the Lion House, because they have such beautiful gardens. Mine are pretty sparse this year. Thanks for letting me enjoy yours.
On the Main Street Plaza at Temple Square this flurry of hydrangeas were begging me to take their picture. I thought they would improve my looks, also. I don't really like to do selfies, but hey; once in awhile, it's okay!!

So It's Officially Summer
The first day of summer and 97 degrees.
Who needs a cold drink or ice, if you please?
Folks in some states are begging for a breeze.
Don’t forget sunscreen, especially on the knees.
I love the longest day of the year and first day of summer. I especially long for it on December 21st when the sun doesn't rise until 8:30 and sets by 4 something. The car and everything is covered in ice or a snow storm is threatening. Enough of that kind of talk, lets dwell on 97' and climbing.
How delightful to go for a walk with your friends and not a care in the world. Yes, how we love summer, with its gentle breezes, cool drinks, walking purposely through the sprinklers and such. Did I say walking, RUNNING!! Checking your garden every morning for a treat to munch on.
I spied an early morning duck party going on in front of this home. They must have pulled an all-nighter and got sent out the front door as 'Dad' woke up. Hey, guys there's another one down the street at the pond. You are all invited!!
Have a great summer!

100 Plus Days on our Plate
On the verge of summer with roses in full bloom.
In the beginning there's lots of leg room.
These ninety days will fly by fast as a log flume.
It’s like being on a rocket ship going zoom.
Well, we finally made it to summer, in a few days or so. 5 a.m. as it begins to get light, I think about my garden, hear the birds begin to sing and get excited to get up. I seldom stay in bed past 5:30. Now I know why my parents got up so early. The day is calling to us to Get Going!! So we do.
At a baseball game, my grand daughter munches on sunflower seeds, filling up the grand stand with them, while watching her brother, Hunter, as they win their game. Yeah!!
Everything feels so fresh. The coolness of the air is evident and feels wonderful. Before long the mugginess and heat of mid-summer will bog us down. Until then, enjoy, take it easy and relax. We have one hundred days to go. ENJOY!!
My calendar is filling up fast. Activity overlapping reunion overlapping town days overlapping concerts and more to come. Celebrate.
