Porky Pig of a Pot Pie

I brought it to work for lunch, then read the label. It said: 37 grams of fat, 990 sodium and 57 Carbs. That is outrageous!! That is probably why I don't buy premade foods. But this was the top pot pie brand! Once in a while it's nice to have something to just pop in the oven. This was the last one that my husband left for me. Unfortunately, we pay the price in calories (it had 610) and our health.
Each gram of fat is 9 calories, so half of the pie was FAT!! Salt in the pie used up 41% of my daily allowance. My tongue really felt that salt over-dose, too. I won't be buying or eating these or any others again. No wonder our nation leads the world in obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure. Fast food and premade foods are our go-to purchases. Is the food industry trying to kill us? In the not to far future, there wont be a market to sell to, because we'll all be dead. That is after the medical and pharmaceutical fields finish us off with drugs and medical care. Yikes!!

Total Points 129

I have loved playing Words With Friends. I was a Scrabble lover from day one. Everyday I am in word heaven, playing every spare moment. I've watched the best and learned some tricks. It seems whenever I try a combination of letters, they don't work. Some of my competitors must have a way to pay off the 'word' judge. I have never heard of the words they make.
You can imagine my excitement when a triple letter (Z) and word were in a line as I constructed 'Zing and Grin' making two triple words and total points of '129'!! My highest score for one move ever. Yeah! One day I will be better than good.

A Tale of Two Zippers

I wear two big hoodies when I go out walking, in the morning to keep warm in the 32' or colder weather. They are old, but comfy, each with two pockets big enough to hold a flash light, phone, gloves, smashed pop cans, grocery bags for them and such. I look like a regular bum! I am sure. This morning as I absentmindedly zipped up the first hoodie, then reach for the sides of the outer one, I realized, that I had zipped the two different jackets closures together.
It didn't even seem different or odd, in the dim light until I looked down to see one-half maroon jacket zipped up with the other half of the gray one. You can see the other half zipper of the maroon jacket at my side. I just had to take a photo to remember it. I considered it a tale of two zippers, joining together as one. I took notice of the contrast. I was grateful for good health and the opportunity to go out daily to enjoy the quiet, cool hour before the busy day begins.

Twenty Fifteen: Will You be Fiesty or Fickle?

I love new years, new months and the beginning of each day, because they are fresh and free of baggage. So with this new 2015, may it be an amazing year. A friend said on Facebook, she prefers to make 'Intentions' instead of 'Resolutions'. They are easier to accomplish. I like to take my time choosing what I will change, correct or challenge.
Yesterday, I did some of the things I love, such as reading, cross country skiing, took a walk, played the piano and made something delicious. This golf course's sand trap was too tempting not to write a 'Happy New Year' wish. I made chicken cordon bleu. It was delicious and not that hard to do. 'Being Ambitious' is an important thing I like to do on days off. With that in mind, I gathered up a large portion of Christmas decorations and put them away. I left the snowmen out to enjoy a little longer.
When I saw the outline of this great tree, skiing the perimeter seemed like a fun thing to try. Doesn't it look beautiful in the sparkly snow? Here's wishing you have a blessed twenty-fifteen along with me! And may all your wishes come true. Keep me posted on how things play out.
