Fri: Fistful of Finds

I've been on a nine day vacation & forgotten all about finding the best gift for each of you. So far I've found not one thing for the family, friends & unfortunate for Christmas. The mind has been void of the usual pressure cooker boiling inside. Instead it's been occupied with precious grand children as we played Candy Land, watched their excitement with trains or hanging Christmas ornaments. I failed to noticed the days running out. It feels good, kind of like being a kid again.

Why is the current push for the material Christmas such a hassle? Is it because none of us really needs anything? It's almost harder to think of what to tell others we want than buying it ourselves. We are so blessed that the current clothes, toys, knick knacks & such will do just fine for another year. The store offerings quit thrilling us long ago. Few can give what we truly yearn for.

Even though they're not for sale, could you use these?

One free day to do what you want (no work to do or distractions).
One clean house (magically transformed without effort).
Five meals prepared & on the table when you're out of ideas & food.
Five nights of hassle free family time to laugh & play.
Ten naps (deep & relaxing).
Ten bills paid with lots of money left over for fun stuff.
Twenty gifts bought, wrapped & under the tree.
Twenty days from now it will be a memory put away til next year.

I'll take ten naps & call you in January.
P.S. What do you really want for Christmas?
