A Mouse in the House
Imagine a mouse in the house this time of year. It's expected in the winter, but summer? Camille & James our basement apartment, renters told us about it and set up barricades. Shortly after I noticed the telltale signs of him in our pantry. Why not stay indoors when you have an unopened bag of Reese's Peanut Butter cups to feast on. The varmint is dead after taking one too many chances at the trap.
I tore into the shelves too long ignored, finding he'd had quite the batchelor pad. It was satisfying tossing, scrubbing, boxing and rearranging 'stuff' until it was clean enough to be posted on Facebook, although I didn't want to bother everyone with the gritty details. Everything is locked up in tight fitting, see-thru containers. Photo is similar picture from internet, but mine isn't quite as lovely.
Full of motivation I also cleaned the basement food storage, as he had terrorized things there, too. Oh, how good it feels to get those jobs done. Now I can sip cool drinks on the patio, knowing my shelves are clean. Thank you very much, Mr. 'Now a Memory' Mouse.

Poetry That Packs a Punch
I'm still in charge of uniforms and have come up with a way to motivate the employees to trade in their soiled lab coats for clean ones, before the weekly pick-up/drop-off. The last person would send out a basic reminder weekly telling everyone to exchange the coats.
I have come up with some snappy rhymes to give them something to read and encourage them to make the switch. The feedback has been pretty positive. Some are surprised and wonder how I come up with the ideas.
Hi All,
There’s A Clean Lab Coat On a Rack Near You.
Don’t be shy, to yourself be true.
Take one! You’ll look and feel nearly new.
Do it by lunchtime or when you’re with the crew.
If you time the delivery, we won’t be blue.
Running out of clean ones, oh how time flew.
Don’t always wait for the email clue.
To beat the truck, be the ‘One’ who knew!
Or something like that.
Hello Mate:
It’s time to the laundry bin you gravitate.
Remove your dirty lab coat to eliminate.
The old for a nice clean one as you graduate.
Then on to the lab to calculate.
Those tests that populate.
Our work as you ruminate.
We are first rate.
So don’t be late.
Oh, and thanks
For Being,
GREAT!
I'm Digging the Deals at the DI
I am digging the great deals at the Deseret Industries found recently. This $24.99 Under Armour workout top was only $3. The stores are selling it for much more, so I took my first selfie to prove it. When my kids were younger we had a code name for the DI. Diane's sounded so much classier. It doesn't matter now, because I know where to go for finding just about anything and everything. Pfaltzgraff china, Coldwater Creek, Nordstrom, Tommy Hilfiger, Lands End, handbags, swimsuits, you name it, they have it. I get coats, hats and boots for charity at Christmas. I turn right around and send my castoffs there for others to enjoy.
The best thing about Deseret Industries is that they hire the disadvantaged, new immigrants and train them to get jobs for future success. They are in the business for making people find happiness.
I really like how they color coordinate their clothing. It's so easy to find what you are looking for. No more high prices and endless searching. Yes, I admit it. I'm a closet DI shopper. Thank you, Deseret Industries for being the best store for me, most of the time. If you say to me, "Hey, I see you've been shopping at Diane's!" I know what you'll mean next time we meet.
