Ten Years on the Job

I made it to the ten year mark at work. I was laid off at my last job when I reached the decade date. They out-sourced all the work to elsewhere in the world. The last gal worked here six years. When she left, I didn't imagine staying a long as she did.

I was honored in our company Christmas party. A man I work with quite a bit, has been here forty years this month. He has been around the block a lot. It's a good place to work for and benefits are a dream. Only a half dozen more years or less and I'm calling it quits. Retirement just looks too good.
