Church At the Holy Cross Chapel

It was my privilege to be a congregation of one, at the 135 year old Holy Cross Chapel connected to Salt Lake Regional Hospital last week. The LDS Branch presidency, speaker, chorister, organist and Priesthood prepared the sacrament and hold weekly thirty minute meetings for patients and family at the old chapel connected to the campus of buildings. The sacrament was passed so quickly, I still had the bread in my mouth, when the prayer for the water was said. They also take the sacrament around to those asking for it.
I had a hard time singing 'Be Still My Soul', and the other nine didn't have much volume either. The speaker, Brother Draper, talked about his father's horse. It was a wild one tamed and never won any races. But, out hunting deer, it could out climb all of the domestic ones hands down. We all have our best assets and should never compare or think we are not good enough. Towards the end of the meeting a patient and nurse came in.
The medical center would like to renovate the small nine pew deep chapel, due to the worn interior, peeling paint and desire to restore it. It is open daily and a wonderful place to meditate and feel peace.
