On the Job With The Crane Man

The outriggers go down, then extend the boom. Secure supplies from the finished roof. There’s plenty of room. Lower them down, a skill he’s had years to groom. Soon the job’s done. He’s fast! Head home, zoom, zoom!

Allan had a job in East Carbon, Utah, located in Carbon County 130 miles away from home. There isn't much available out there so Construction Crane got the job. He needed to remove supplies from the roof of a church that had just been remodeled, secure them to the bed of his truck and take them back to the yard of Capitol Roofing in Sandy.

The crane operator and the person attaching the supplies use hand signals, so they know when the load is ready to lift, lower, cable up/down, boom up/down and so on. Experienced workers know it, some need to be taught. Allan knows he can trust from the signal and what to do. Signs work better than shouting, then misunderstanding and making a mistake.

Allan bought his first crane over twenty years ago, because general contracting was becoming so political and the market saturated. It has been a good business and he has established himself as a fair priced and knowledgeable operator. Go, Allan go!!

Meant to Be Voice Male

A free concert, how lucky can you be!! These guys are well known, by the size of crowd you can see. Great music, sung acapella with glee. Everyone is glad they're here, even me!!

I decided on a whim to come see 'Voice Male' at the free Brigham Park series held every Tuesday and Friday in the summer. I am glad I did. They were terrific and funny, too. Two tenors, baritones, bass and the other sounds, guy. These forty something men have been performing for years. Thanks for doing a free concert for us.

Everyone that attended was glad to be treated to such a fun night. Thanks again for your talents.

Clone Crazy Summer

Who’s had a summer fuller than ever? With too much to do, multiple things to lever, Concerts, plays, parties, weddings or whatever. Wouldn’t cloning two of ourselves be clever?

There were days I had to choose one over the other and hated missing out on several parties, concerts and such. But I enjoyed all the fun stuff we did do such as: concerts, plays, weddings, birthdays, (neighborhood, swimming & church) parties, luncheons, museums, hosting over-night guests (12), festivals, too many eat-outs to remember, trips, parades, BBQ's, sailing, and 1 very fun river ride.

Swimming along with the fish in the sea, Plays, weddings, concerts and a party. Hosting twelve guests, I think I'm going crazy. Piano Guys, Dolly, Voice Male so much to see. It's about time I clone three more of me.

Cooper's Birthday and The Creative Cook

This little guy, Cooper, is already one. He is my only son's second son. How much he has grown and healthy bar none. This little family has had a lot of fun.

It was Cooper's first birthday. His party was amazing with basketball birthday cake, life size photo shoot, video, dinner and more. What a lucky and loved boy. Dad spent hours preparing this cute video, with music and timeline of the past twelve months. Mom made this darling basketball cake, that not only looked terrific but tasted the same. Sarah is the gourmet cook in the family. Everything she makes is delicious. How lucky Jory is to enjoy her creations.

Years ago, I tried to be the everything for everyone. I remember wearing myself out. Many times I was miserable from fatigue at trying to be the best. Time takes its toll and now I just do what I can. But youth has energy and excited to try all. I commend Sarah for her talents and doing the best she is able. She said, on the day of Cooper's birthday, it had been the hardest year of her life. Yes, with two babies under 18 months, it would be. She was still smiling, too.

Water Works Washer

My washer's been leaking from the drawer. Found that green lid blocking the way, big score! Thanks to YouTube, a video helped me, for sure. A repairman would have cost so much more.

It began to leak out of the drawer a month ago, but the washer still worked. So I kept using it, by putting a pail underneath to catch the water. No way was I going to pay a repairman to come. It looked like something was blocking the water path to the tub. Finally, I Googled "Epic Maytag washer leaking from the drawer". A YouTube video showed some possible problems. After following the instructions and trouble shooting, I found a green cap from a laundry soap bottle was caught in the tray. Yeah!! Finally the tray didn't leak and now it's fixed.
